Batchelder Tour – 10/7/2016

has arranged a tour of the Batchelder Tile Exhibit at the Pasadena Museum of History

Meet at the Museum located at 470 West Walnut Street, Pasadena – free parking We will divide into two groups one led by the Director of Collections – Laura Verlaque and The other by the curator of the exhibit – Elizabeth Smalley

“Ernest A. Batchelder (1875-1957) – built a kiln behind his house overlooking the Arroyo Seco and entered the business of creating hand-crafted art tiles. The tiles were hugely popular, and by the 1920’s, Batchelder’s tiles could be found in homes and buildings across the United States.”

If you live in a home with a Batchelder fireplace please bring a photo to share. Reservations are limited to the first 40 paid responses.
